DSEI finds a home at ExCeL London once every two years and maintains a fairly simple structure as the main exhibition space is divided into the main zones of the defence industry – aerospace zone, land zone, naval zone, security zone and joint zone. In between these five, visitors have the opportunity to see an incredible array of technologies and products - electronic warfare, emergency equipment, telecommunication systems, first aid equipment, infrared systems, radar equipment, surveillance cameras, weapons and ammunition among many others. The 2019 edition occurred between 10.09-13.09.2019. It received over 1700 exhibitors with 400 of them being first-time attendants. The rendition also received 36 000 visitors from a total of 114 countries. The edition featured 44 national pavilions including Australia, Turkey, Finland, France, the UK, and the USA. Also, it included an increased Eastern European presence via pavilions dedicated to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Ukraine. The 2019 edition included the debut of the Space and Manufacturing Hubs. Over 300 leading industry experts provided valuable information during the lectures.
The 2021 edition was quite valuable for the global defence & security industry. It served as the successful restart of the in-person fairs for the UK and the sector. The 2021 edition was in a hybrid format — a face-to-face exhibition complemented by a digital platform. It took place between 14.09.2021 and 17.09.2021. The Edition featured new additions. Among them was the introduction of the ‘Future Tech Hub’ — a dedicated hub that combined Innovation, Cyber and Communication. The hub allowed professionals to discuss and examine novelties related to different topics. Among them were digitalisation, cybersecurity, networks & communications. DSEI 2021 received 64 national and international delegations, with many attending in person.
