METSTRADE (METS/METS Amsterdam) is the leisure maritime industry's leading fair. It is where the sector learns about the latest trends. The fair occurs in the Amsterdam RAI. METS is a high-profile event that receives around 20000 attendees during its editions. For instance, one iteration featured 1 400 exhibiting firms and 17 418 visitants. METS Amsterdam is attended by attendees from countries such as Australia, Canada, Finland, and China. It should be noted that 84% of the exhibiting are from abroad and that 16% are newcomers. METS in Amsterdam has an extensive program that can help in achieving such aims. One of the main events is the exhibition. It features various products, including boat furnishings to docking equipment. The exposition includes three specialised areas. These are Marina & Yard, Construction and Superyachts. The exhibition zone also includes 20 country pavilions.
The fair additionally includes events such as the I-nnovation LAB. It is the central hub for the showcasing of innovations. It also shows all selections for the DAME Design Awards. I-nnovation LAB is likewise where the Boat Builder Awards occur. The Lab furthermore hosts a range of seminars, presentations, and debates. Its program also includes many workshops. The Breakfast Briefing acts as the inauguration of the fair. During the briefing, a leading figure of choice holds a keynote speech. They also open the DAME Design Award ceremony. During the ceremony, a specialist jury selects nominees in 8 categories. Up to 8 nominees can receive the Award — one general and seven category prizewinners. The Boat Builder Awards for Business Achievement are similar in intent. They reward significant contributions to the boat-building sector. There are six categories: personal achievement, design, innovation, collaborative working, environmental responsibility, and marketing.
Attendees should also consider visiting the Construction Material Pavilion. It is the location for examining new materials and boat/yacht construction techniques. Within the area will be the Construction in Process Stage. It is an interactive platform where exhibitors can perform a short demonstration. Demonstrators will share in-depth knowledge, such as how the presented process works.
Another pivotal sub-event is the HISWA Marina Symposium. It is part of the Marina & Yard Pavilion. Its subjects of focus include the new developments for marinas. Themes will feature sustainability, future water tourism challenges and attracting new boaters. THE GMI Certified Members Global Meeting is similar in intent. The meeting allows GMI Certified members to discuss trending topics related to marinas.
METSTRADE also features the NMEA electronics seminars and the METSTRADE Young Professionals Club. The NMEAS seminars include sessions on new technologies and electronics. The seminar programme focuses on the most up-to-date industry topics. The Young Professionals Club is a meeting event for professionals under 35. It provides a hybrid environment for the hosting of meetings and networking.

METSTRADE 2023 was a live trade exposition hosted in Amsterdam RAI between the 15th and 17th of November 2023. It did not feature coronavirus precautions similar to the 2022 format. Over 1 500 exhibitants from 53 nations attended the iteration.

The hotel is not really very close to the fair and rooms are quite small. But the level is however high and the staff is really nice and helpful.

This hotel was in a great location, very close to the main train station.
There are tons of restaurants and sight seeing opportunities within walking/biking distance. The value/price was much better than the hotel I stayed at 4 years ago when I attended the Ligna show.
