The 2023 edition of IAA Mobility will take place between September 5th until September 10th. The venue of choice for this live edition is Messe München in Munich, Germany. Organisers have stressed that the event will comply with the government regulations regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

2021 Edition

IAA Cars' 2021 edition was the first edition of IAA Mobility. The event took place as a hybrid event T Munich. It consisted of a face-to-face exhibition and a digital platform. The face-to-face exhibition consists of a total of 260,000 square meters of event space. The space is divided between the city centre of Munich and Messe Munich. In the centre of Munich, there was a total of 65,000 m2 of exhibition space. This included new additions to event schedules such as Blue Lane. The face-to-face aspect included strict COVID-19 precautions, such as social distancing. The first platform for future mobility has brought together many new concepts and modes of transportation. A total of 400,000 participants from 95 countries visited the rendition. Of these, 744 were exhibitors, 78 of which were new businesses. Another 152 exhibitors were technology companies or suppliers. Seventy-five exhibitors were bicycle brands presenting the latest models and accessories. Nine hundred sixty-three speakers participated in the edition. Despite the ongoing pandemic, such a level of support demonstrates the importance of face-to-face interactions. They also demonstrate the importance of researching products live. This is further confirmed by the premiering of numerous models and concepts. Over 100 novelties have been announced for the first time at the edition. IAA Mobility also includes numerous test drives and used cars in the new Blue Lane environment. A total of 7,000 test drives and 255 vehicles used at the Blue Lane were accumulated in 6 days. An important contribution to the high attendance is the strong media presence of the event. During the event days from 7.09.2021 to 12.09.2021, 3,500 journalists visited the event. The edition has reached 137 billion people through online campaigns on social media. The campaign was carried out with the aid of more than 40 partners. Countries with high coverage included China, the United States, South Korea, Spain, Italy, Brazil, and Germany. Many participants expressed great satisfaction with the  new event concept. All participants and organisers consider the 2021 edition a great success.
